ASKED QUESTIONS :
HOW ARE THE SHOPS FINANCED?
Our only income is from the money raised as our donated
goods are sold. As with the running of any business, there
are costs involved - monthly rental of premises, security,
telephone, etc. Each shop employs a fulltime Manageress
and a part-time Promoter/Overseer. Other staff are volunteers
which we deeply depend on from our supportive churches.
Once all expenses are paid, 50% of the shop profits are
distributed locally by the Shop Management Board, and 50%
are distributed nationally, by the Baptist Women's Department.
WHAT ARE THE SHOP PROFITS USED FOR?
We support theological students, pastors' widows, manses
in crisis and selective women's ministry projects. Each
shop should have an updated brochure which is made available
to any church or individual interested in the distribution
of the profits. Financial transparency and accountability
is essential in this ministry. We value every opportunity
to give God all the glory for His wonderful provision!
WHAT DO WE SELL AT OUR HIDDEN TREASURE SHOPS?
All used and sometimes new, household goods... furniture,
linen, ornaments, paintings, kitchenware, electrical appliances,
cutlery and crockery, pots and pans, clothing, jewelry,
make-up, shoes, hats, tools, toys, games, cd's, dvd's, videos,
books and magazines, sporting equipment, stationary... everything
and anything!!
WHO CAN OPEN A 'HIDDEN TREASURE' SHOP?
Are you a committed Christian and member of an evangelical
church? Do you have a vision to reach your community for
Christ? Do you have leadership skills, the support of fellow
believers and caring churches in your area? Then you too,
are welcome to contact us. We would love to partner with
you and set up a "Hidden Treasure" Shop in your
area. You may have an orphanage, home for the elderly, single
mothers or ministry to drug addicts, which needs financing.
A "Hidden Treasure" shop is a wonderful way to
assist with financing the work of the Kingdom.
